Missouri Lakes in Colorado

I’ve always been fascinated by states that name cities and roads after other cities and countries, like Paris, Texas. Apparently hiking destinations are no exception – at the end of June I visited Missouri Lakes in Colorado, and let me tell you, the experience was MUCH more enjoyable than visiting the state of Missouri. It was a one night backpack, but I drove up the night before and slept in the hammock. The hike itself was great – hiked a lollipop look with ~10mi on day one, and less on day 2, going up an over two passes, looking upon lakes & wild flowers and camping by a lake. There were two sections with a decent amount of snow, and post-holing and wet shoes were unavoidable. Only downside was the presence of mosquitoes by the camp at night.
